Quick poll, now that the pre-ordering is underway, and tentative release dates are released (internet-facts, of course).

While "yes" was my answer for the longest time I've also been looking at GW2 and it's starting to look better actually.
I'll have to wait till I can buy my next computer regardless as I can't run either.

Manage to see any of the recent Beta test videos on Youtube? Looks awesome - also looks like it has taken quite a leap since mid-year.

Vids have been taken down now though. Bah.

I've taken a look at the game, and I must say, it looks damn cool and the classes look interesting to play.

I wonder how they intend to balance it all. If you look at the original movies, most of how the plot works is based on 2 things: there are very few jedi/sith, and each of them is worth several dozen ordinary people in combat. In the game however, everybody and their little brother will be able to be a jedi/sith. So either, they will be very awesome and outshine everything else, or they will be brought to normal, and lose why they are special....

That aside, you get to have a starship, which should give another interesting layer to the gameplay. (I hope it's not just transport). Plus, it's made by Bioware, so the companion system should work, if DA 2 is any indication (awesome game that, btw), and there should be a descent and interesting plot.

That's the plan with this forum Dins! Hopefully all be around for it. I'm thinking of going dark to be honest, as I do like the look of Korriban. It's a tough one though! I'll have a character for both either way.

Know what you mean Iss, though I'm kind of thinking of Jedi/Sith as just mages/locks. Powerful, but somewhat vulnerable. That kinda makes sense too to me I guess. Matched against a smart and powerful bounty hunter or trooper with big guns, I can see how that would work. Interested to see how it's balanced too. I am likely going to be a Sith to start with.

How about you guys?

Sith Warrior as Dps, or Sith Inquisitor Healer... for main Char. And then ofc also some lightside playing for fun :D also to see the storylines :)

Of course it is...usually with lots of Runescape players, for some reason.

The more I see about it, the more exited I get. If we get a substantial amount of muppets over there, I will not be long behind. Although that still depends on how much time I have then and what my RL friends will be playing. (As playing together is my main motivation for playing MMOs).

Drool. I love the quote where one says that Alderaan is the size of 5-6 WoW zones put together. Hehe.

Anyways, I had created a little guild thing on the website. Plan was not to use this as a guild for all of us who play this, more a private one like I use in WoW for storage of old crap. It's called Violet Chronicle, and as of yet it's a unique name - nobody else is using it! I'll come up with a reason as to why it's called that, eventually. Heh. Republic faction, pvp server (pvp with Jedi vs Sith seems fitting, and pvp server wide progression is more balanced from my experience). Could get a bit lonely though, so if anybody is interested in joining it as a start-up thing, while we get used to the game I'd love for you to be a part of it - maybe it could tun it to something bigger if you so wished it to.

Anyways, I'm thinking I might be a Jedi - healer. Never been a healer!

The allies and adversary thing seems cool too for guilds.

That's partly why I have personally gone for "alliance" in The Old Republic. In WoW I've never had an alliance char above 20ish, because I'm too dedicated to playing horde. I don't want that to happen with this and potentially miss out parts of the story I'm most looking forward to with Shan.

But meh, I'll role Sith too then. :)
